Alexisonfire is preparing to release Otherness , their first studio album in 13 years, and this Thursday, the 19th, they released their new single “Sans Soleil” .
According to vocalist George Pettit , guitarist Wade MacNeil wrote the lyrics for the song around the same time he was working on the new Dooms Children , which is said to have influenced the song (via Kerrang! ).
“The Dooms Children album touched on a lot of things that were extremely personal to Wade, and this song definitely has that vein,” said Petit.
Regarding the song, Wade said: “This song is about holding on to hope during difficult times. Healing and letting go. Dreaming of a future where all this pain is behind you.”
Otherness arrives on June 24th via Dine Alone Records . Listen to “Sans Soleil” now:
