On Tuesday, the 16th, Alexisonfire released the music video for the song "Mistaken Information". The track is part of the album Otherness , the first to be released by the band in 13 years.
The video was directed by Nedda Afsari and the creative team at Muted Widows , who also did the photos and album cover art. The same models and actors are featured in the artwork for Otherness – and the cinematic clip traces the path of the album art.
“It was a wonderful experience creating the video for 'Mistaken Information' for the amazing Alexisonfire,” states Muted Widows , offering an overview. “We appreciated how receptive they were to the concept after hearing the song – immediately feeling a kind of hypnotic tone. The video is abstract in nature and very much about the feeling.”
Afsari agrees, saying: “I love working on comprehensive projects, making videos that tie into photos for the album artwork. Michael E. Linn did tons of footage for the album photoshoot and knew we wanted to incorporate that into 'Mistaken Information'. We created a world of déjà vu where dreams blend with reality and nothing is certain.”
'Otherness' and Lollapalooza 2022
In June, Alexisonfire made their grand return with the release of Otherness , their first album in 13 years. At the time, the band stated that it wasn't their intention to be "an act of nostalgia," and the album touched on quite personal and introspective subjects, ranging from the search for hope to the fight against one's own demons.
In March, the band performed in Brazil at Lollapalooza Brasil 2022 and represented the true resistance of heavy music. Relegated to a smaller stage and at an inconvenient time, Alexisonfire attracted only their own audience, but demonstrated intense enthusiasm in delivering a memorable show.
