The musician needed to undergo shoulder surgery after discovering the problem

Alexi Laiho , vocalist and guitarist of Children of Bodom , revealed during an interview with Guitar World that he spent almost ten years with a broken collarbone without knowing it.

“Apparently, my collarbone was broken for about 10 years. I had to relearn how to play. It’s not a nerve problem, but some of my fingers aren’t up to par for many things. It’s a slow process; I’m still not back to where I was before the operation.”

The revelation came after being asked which solo required the most technique from him, “That’s quite a question. Probably the old stuff where some of the solos I wrote were incredibly fast. Everything seems difficult now,” he said, mentioning that he had to undergo shoulder surgery two years ago.
