The relationship between John Lennon and Yoko Ono Beatles fans for decades , with some even citing it as the main reason for the band's breakup. In an interview with The Wikimetal Happy Hour , Ahmet Zappa Frank Zappa 's son , commented on his father's friendship with the couple and defended Yoko, comparing the attacks she received to those suffered by his own mother.
Ahmet mentioned how much more can be learned about “the relationship and partnership” between John and Yoko by watching the documentary made about the couple , and said he hopes the project helps people recognize how “badass” Yoko is. “I identify with that because my mother gets a really bad reputation because people think she’s some kind of ‘Officer Zappa.’ My parents’ love story… They were very passionate and had their ups and downs, and moments where their relationship was challenged, and yet they stayed together through thick and thin,” Ahmet recounts.
“Every relationship has challenges, but they had this unique love story because they also built a business together. In many ways, they built the most successful independent direct-to-consumer record label, as a great example of working together with your spouse, which isn’t easy,” she added.
