Overcoming Limits , the debut album by Age of Artemis , has become one of the greatest classics of Brazilian power metal over the years, thanks to the experience the band has gained, including a performance at Rock in Rio.
To celebrate its 10th anniversary, the band is marking this special milestone with the release of a completely rearranged and re-recorded acoustic version, titled Overcoming 10 Years . The concept behind this new album isn't just about turning off the guitars, but about presenting new versions of songs that have been part of the band's history and the Brazilian metal scene.
In addition to these versions, the band also released a new track called "Healing Wounds." The new song reinforces all the characteristics that have made Age of Artemis one of the most important metal bands in Brazil and the world.
Founded in 2008, Age of Artemis currently consists of Airton Araujo on vocals, Gabriel Soto and Jeff Castro on guitars, Giovanni Sena on bass, and Riccardo Linassi on drums.
Regarding the release of Overcoming 10 Years , bassist Giovanni Sena highlighted: “ Overcoming 10 Years is more than a celebration of the release of our first album. Besides being our first acoustic album, it showcases an innovative and creative band. I was very happy with the final result of the arrangements and, of course, the unreleased song 'Healing Wounds,' which perfectly represents all the influences that Age of Artemis has.”
The album was produced by Giovanni Sena, mixed by Eduardo Belchior of Intense Music Productions, and mastered by Ronny Miliannowicz , both from Sweden. The drums were recorded at Estúdio Spot79 in Belo Horizonte, and the percussion at Thiago Limacruz's studio in Brasília. The guitars, bass, and keyboards were recorded at GT&L in Brasília. The vocals, by Airton Araujo , were all recorded in his home studio.
The physical version of the album can be purchased through the band's official store.
