LOSERVILLE TOUR festival , featuring Limp Bizkit as the main attraction, will still take place next Saturday, December 13th in Santiago, Chile, after facing the risk of cancellation. The event will be held at a new venue: Santa Laura USEK Stadium.
Lotus the production company responsible for the show, released a statement on social media on Tuesday night, the 9th, announcing the new location:
"Against wind, tide, and any bump in the road... Loserville doesn't stop. They moved the plan, but not the strength. They changed our complex, but not the vibe. The show goes on at Santa Laura USEK Stadium, and when the mosh pit arrives... It's going to explode stronger than ever. Anyone who isn't happy with the change can request a refund."
LOSERVILLE TOUR was scheduled to take place at Parque Estadio Nacional. However, after complaints from the athletes participating in the Women's Hockey World Championship final , which will take place on the same day and at the same location, the production company promptly found a new venue to avoid cancellation.
Why the cancellation decision?
On the morning of last Tuesday, the 9th, the National Sports Institute (IND) announced the "rescheduling" of the event. This followed confirmation that the Women's Hockey World Championship final would take place on the same day and at the same location, the Parque Estadio Nacional.
According to CNN Chile , the decision comes after criticism from the Chilean national team, Las Diablas Junior , who publicly denounced the scheduling conflict and warned of the risks of loud noise, interference with the athletes' concentration, and compromised international broadcast of the final. In a statement on social media, the team argued: “Did they measure the decibels? What will happen to the television broadcast that goes to more than 100 countries? (…) Our event was organized more than a year ago. The final deserves respect.”
A few hours later, Lotus released a statement on social media, expressing outrage at the "unilateral cancellation" announced by the IND. The production company said that a contract had already been signed, formal permission had been granted, and that the stage was being set up at the time of notification. "Today, in the midst of setting up Loserville, we were notified by the IND of the unilateral cancellation of the event due to the scheduling of the Women's Hockey World Cup final at another location in the National Stadium Park."
“We recognize the international importance of this competition and express our full respect and appreciation for the sport and the athletes (...). However, this situation should have been foreseen and communicated before November 5th, the date on which our rental request was formally accepted without any comment,” they added.
