Biff Byford , vocalist of Saxon , has announced that he will release a solo album. Titled School of Hard Knocks , the debut will have its first single, "Welcome to the Show," on October 25th.
The album will feature guest appearances by Fredrik Åkesson , guitarist of Opeth , who collaborated with Byford throughout the project. School of Hard Knocks will be released on December 13th.
The news comes shortly after the vocalist underwent surgery and canceled some shows on Saxon's tour. Now, Byford updates fans, saying he will soon return to the stage with the group, which will also release a new studio album, although a release date has not yet been set.
