A new studio album may not be in Aerosmith .

In an interview with Classic Rock , Joe Perry commented that he doesn't plan to record another solo album at the moment and that he would put all his energy into a new Aerosmith album "if that were even considered" (via Loudersound ).

When asked if the band plans to work on a successor to Music From Another Dimension! (2012), Perry said he wasn't sure, but admitted that the possibility seemed very remote.

“I don’t know. Right now, I want to tour as much as we can. I want to play for the fans. That’s the focus at the moment,” says the guitarist.

“If we have time to work on new music, that would be great, but knowing Steven [ Tyler ] and knowing our age and everything that goes into making an album… I don’t know,” he admits. “I’m always messing around, writing things, but at this point I can’t say. I just want to get through the next tour and play live and give back to the fans.”

Joe Perry further clarified that Aerosmith has never been the type of band to plan things too far in advance, so it's impossible to predict where the group will be in the coming years. "Especially at our age. The air is thinning for us, man. A lot of people are moving on to the next level, so to speak," he concluded.

Currently, Aerosmith is on their farewell tour , The Peace Out Tour . To date, the band has over 40 dates announced for North America, concluding on January 26th in Montreal. They are performing without drummer and founding member Joey Kramer , who decided not to participate in the tour to be with his family and take care of his health.
