Aerosmith earns a series of gold and platinum certifications in the United States

Album and single sales by the band in the country secured new certifications

Aerosmith has earned a series of gold and platinum certifications for album and single sales in the United States.

In the most recent update from the Recording Industry Association of America ( RIAA ), the band received seven certification updates for sales in the gold record category, equivalent to every 500,000 copies sold, and platinum, equivalent to one million copies.

The album Toys in The Attic (1975) went 9x platinum, with the single 'Walk This Way' upgraded to platinum for one million sales, while the hit 'I Don't Want to Miss a Thing' earned its fifth platinum certification and 'Sweet Emotion' its third.

The compilation album Greatest Hits (1980) went 12x platinum, marking 12 million sales in the country. The songs “Jaded” and “Pink” were certified gold.

The same update also secured Led Zeppelin a memorable achievement: the album Led Zeppelin IV went 24x platinum , reaching 24 million copies sold in the US alone.
