Brad Whitford brought sad news to Aerosmith . Despite the announced European tour scheduled for the second half of 2022, the guitarist doesn't believe the band will return to the stage.
Live From Nerdville program , Whitford explained the reason for his skepticism about the shows taking place, which were scheduled for 2022 and suffered several postponements due to the pandemic. “The European tour… They tried to organize one last year and they’re talking about doing it next year. It’s pure wishful thinking at the moment,” he opined (via Ultimate Guitar ). “Nothing is going to happen for a long time.”
Beyond the uncertainty surrounding health issues, the musician also cited the difficulties in obtaining passports following the UK's exit from the Brexit agreement, but his pessimistic view is based on the physical condition of the band members, all aged between 69 and 73.
“Sometimes I don’t know what goes through my bandmates’ heads when they think [this tour] is going to happen. I mean, I have my doubts about Aerosmith actually performing again because age is becoming a real factor… That’s just how things are,” he explained.
