Last Monday, the 1st, Aerosmith announced that they will be doing their final tour sometime in 2023. The Black Crowes will be the special guest.
Called The Peace Out Tour , the tour begins in Philadelphia on September 2nd and travels across North America with over 40 stops. Some of the cities included are Los Angeles, New York, Toronto, Chicago, and the band's hometown, Boston, which will host a show on New Year's Eve.
Aerosmith's farewell tour concludes on January 26, 2024, in Montreal. In a statement, the band commented: “It’s not goodbye, it’s PEACE! Get ready and come with us, you’re going to have the best shows of your lives.” (via The Guardian )
The lineup participating in The Peace Out Tour includes Steven Tyler , Joe Perry , Brad Whitford , and Tom Hamilton . Aerosmith's founding drummer, Joey Kramer , will not be present.
In a statement, the band commented: “Joey Kramer remains a beloved founding member of Aerosmith, but unfortunately, he has made the decision not to participate in the scheduled tour dates to focus his attention on his family and health. Joey's unmistakable and legendary presence behind the drums will be greatly missed.”
The tour was announced amidst a controversy involving lead singer Steven Tyler, who was accused of sexual abuse in the 1970s by a former girlfriend who was 16 years old at the time. The singer denies all accusations .
