Adrian Smith of Iron Maiden and Richie Kotzen are among the best new talents of 2021.

Not that either of the veterans needed an introduction to rock and metal fans, but the duo's unexpected partnership proved to be one of the most incendiary projects of recent years – and continues at a very high level on the EP Better Days , released this Friday, the 26th.

The dynamism already displayed by the duo on their self-titled debut album, released in March of this year , continues with full force in the four new tracks, establishing an unstoppable and high-performance rhythm for Smith/Kotzen .

“We have very similar tastes in music, you know? We really like the same singers,” Kotzen commented about the partnership in an interview with Wikimetal . “Adrian has a very strong connection with blues, and I grew up with R&B, which has a lot of blues influence, I also have a good history in the world of jazz fusion. So we had a good exchange of ideas coming from both sides, one guy would start something, the other would finish the task. So far it's been one of the easiest albums I've ever made.”

The EP is available on all streaming platforms, listen below.
