During an interview with Guitar World , Adam James recalled when Eddie Van Halen , already weakened by cancer, went to a Tool with his son Wolfgang.
At the time, the news of Eddie Van Halen at the show became headline news because Tool fans, not recognizing the legendary guitarist , asked him to take pictures of the show.
“Wolf, Eddie’s son, is a huge Tool fan and a really cool guy,” Adam Jones said in the interview. “He took his dad to the show at the Staples Center (…) and after the performance they came to our dressing room and we had a really good chat. Eddie was humble and I was very happy to have that moment with him. Having your idol greet you and say, ‘Hey, you’re doing a great job,’ is like receiving a trophy.”
Adam Jones also spoke about how Eddie Van Halen influenced him when he was learning to play: "I felt very lucky to have had his music and his influence in my life."
