The actor and vocalist was 93 years old


The death of actor Christopher Lee, known for his roles as Saruman in the “Lord of the Rings” saga and “Dracula” in the 1958 film, was announced today. Lee died in hospital last Sunday (7) while being treated for heart and respiratory failure and was 93 years old.

The announcement of his death was only reported today by the English newspaper "The Telegraph," as Lee's wife wanted to inform family members first.

The actor was also known for his passion for Heavy Metal, having released 2 albums in the genre; “Charlemagne: By The Sword And The Cross” (2010) and “Charlemagne: The Omens Of Death” (2013).

In December 2013, Lee became the oldest performer to have a song on the US charts at the time. The track that topped the charts was a Christmas metal song, Jingle Hells .
