The most extreme subgenres of metal meet in a hypnotic and unique blend in the sound of Siglos , an American band formed by Sin Quirin , former guitarist of Ministry , and vocalist Pedro Sanchez , from the band Transtorno .

Wikimetal 's discoveries on Groover , the band presents a brutal and somehow transcendent sound in the song "Morir Para Vivir" (Die to Live), combining deep guttural vocals with a macabre melody that sounds like the perfect soundtrack to a violent ritual for necessary, albeit violent, purging. The song is part of the EP Rituales Sagrados (Sacred Rituals), the band's debut project, released on January 27th.

This unique and fervent sound is the result of a careful blend of black metal, doom, and industrial metal. Although it's possible to perceive elements of each of these subgenres in Siglos' music, the final result doesn't fit into any of the previous categories.

With all lyrics in Spanish, the musicians join forces by using their own families' Mexican and Spanish heritage to create "ritualistic lyrics and explore non-traditional techniques with rhythms," as they explain in a press release.

The importance of this ancestry in shaping Siglos' sound is evident in the music video for "Morir Para Vivir," which features a shaman performing a cleansing ritual on the band members.
