Eddie Trunk , famous radio host and close friend of Ace Frehley , revealed details about the fall that led to the death of the original KISS .

Eddie recounted last Friday, the 17th, on a podcast , that Ace had two falls down the stairs at his house, and the second one was fatal [transcription via Igor Miranda ]:

“He fell for the first time and I posted that he was okay, that we were in contact. That’s true. Many people don’t understand that Ace fell a second time. I believe that second fall happened exactly two weeks ago [October 3rd]. That one was catastrophic.”

“He fell down the stairs at his house. He wasn’t drunk or high. Ace was very proud of his sobriety, so you can rule that out. I don’t know all the circumstances surrounding it, but it was a really serious fall. I’ve been to his house, I know the stairs. He hit his head multiple times, severely, and that caused the problems. I won’t go into details, but it was a very, very serious injury,” Eddie confirmed.

The radio host also explained about Ace's time in the hospital:

“Ace was unconscious in the hospital for several days. I knew that. The hospital was about 10 minutes from my house in New Jersey, but unfortunately I couldn’t visit him. Access was completely restricted, which is understandable, as they didn’t want anyone there. It was very serious.”
