Ace Frehley comments on new album: it will make Paul Stanley “look like an idiot”

The guitarist thinks this is perhaps the "best album" he has ever made

Ace Frehley commented on his new work, describing it as the best he has ever done and saying that, when released, it will make Paul Stanley "look like an idiot."

In an interview with radio station 93.5 FM MAX , the guitarist gave more details about his upcoming work ( via Blabbermouth ): “My album is ready and is being mastered right now. And if all goes well over the weekend, the album will be delivered to the record label on Monday [October 30th].”

“I think it might be the best album I’ve ever made so far,” he continues, “And it’s the first time I’ve co-written most of the songs with Steve Brown from Trixter . He’s a great songwriter, and I’m a great songwriter, and we put our heads together and the songs come out doubly good. He also harmonizes perfectly with me.”

“I’ve never written with so many people – I usually write most of my songs alone. I might get a little help from someone, but this album is practically co-written by Steve and me, almost all the songs. And it turned out better than I anticipated. And the vocals are strong, the guitar solos are strong, the songs, the lyrics, the melodies, everything is really powerful,” explained Ace Frehley.

The musician commented on how his solo career began, and whether he imagined everything that would happen: "It was difficult at first, but now I've gained a lot of strength."

“I remember the guy who got me signed to the record label, he told me that, before Anomaly was released, a lot of people told him, ‘You’re not even going to get the record.’ Because Paul [Stanley] and Gene [Simmons] practically tried to destroy my credibility by calling me a drunk, a drug addict, and someone unreliable. But if that were the case, how did I make five albums? And I’ve been touring constantly for the last 10 years or more. It doesn’t make sense.”

“They contradict themselves all the time. Now they’re belittling me and saying that if I played with them on their farewell tour, it would hurt their performance. Paul said on The Howard Stern Show , you might as well call the band PISS instead of KISS if I went on stage with them. Well, when this album comes out, it’s going to make him look like an idiot,” the musician concluded.

Ace Frehley X Paul Stanley and Gene Simmons

Ace Frehley has been embroiled in media disputes with his former Kiss bandmates. Despite invitations to join Kiss's final tour , neither the guitarist nor Peter Criss actually participated in the band's farewell shows.

Among other problems between Frehley and the founders of Kiss are the indirect comment the guitarist made to the band regarding the use of playback in their shows , as well as the fact that he threatened to reveal something about Stanley and Simmons that would supposedly "ruin their careers" .
