Ace Frehley declined an invitation to join his former bandmates Gene Simmons and Paul Stanley on the Kiss Kruise: Land-locked in Vegas .
Guitar World magazine KISS guitarist responded to whether he had been invited to participate in the band's next event: “They invited me and I refused. No way am I going to get involved in that, you know? Their biggest mistake is that they should have done it at Madison Square Garden, not in Las Vegas, in a place with 5,000 seats, or something like that.”
Ace Frehley continued: “There are several reasons. You know, Paul, towards the end, about nine months before KISS played Madison Square Garden, both Paul and Gene were saying, ‘Let’s bring everyone on stage.’ And then, a few months before the show, they both changed their minds and said, ‘Ace and Peter [Criss] aren’t going to do it.’ In fact, Paul kept saying, ‘If Ace and Peter came on stage with us, the band could be called Piss.’ So, I kind of argued with him.”
However, Ace concluded by giving fans hope: “I’m the kind of guy who never says never. I don’t hate Paul or Gene, you know? We’re rock and roll brothers, and so is Peter. So, anything can happen.”
Gene Simmons invited Ace Frehley and Peter Criss to the event.
During an interview on the Noize In The Attic with Greg Schmitt , Gene Simmons, bassist and co-founder of KISS, commented that he does not rule out the possibility of sharing the stage with former bandmates Ace Frehley and Peter Criss KISS Army: Storms Vegas event , scheduled to take place in November of this year in Las Vegas.
“Of course,” he replied when asked about the possibility of them appearing at the event. Despite the invitation still standing, he acknowledges the chances are slim. “I personally invited Ace and Peter to join us on stage at Madison Square Garden [for the final show of their farewell tour]. But they said no. 'I want this, I want that.' 'You can't have this, but join us to celebrate the beginning.'”
Scheduled to take place between November 14th and 16th at the Virgin Hotels Las Vegas, KISS Army Storms Vegas is an event made by and for the fans. The celebration marks the 50th anniversary of the KISS Army and will be the band's first appearance since the end of the End Of The Road in December 2023.
