He was largely responsible for the band's success
George Young, the Australian producer, mentor and composer, has died at the age of 70.
Malcolm and Angus Young's older brother, the musician achieved success with his band The Easybeats in the 1960s before participating in the production of some AC/DC albums such as High Voltage and Let There Be Rock.
The news was revealed on the band's social media with a message of gratitude and admiration from the members.
"It is with immense heartache that we announce the passing of our brother and mentor, George Young. Without his help and guidance, AC/DC would not exist.".
As a musician, composer, producer, advisor, and much, much more, we couldn't ask for a more dedicated and professional person.
As a brother, we couldn't ask for a better one. For everything he did and gave us during his life, we will always remember him with gratitude and cherish him in our hearts.”
