The singer was honored at a memorial built in Melbourne
Bon Scott , the beloved vocalist who fronted AC/DC between 1974 and 1980, was honored in Melbourne, Australia, with a three-meter sculpture. The artwork was unveiled to the public by the musician's son, Dave Stevens, at a ceremony last Tuesday, the 6th.
According to The Sydney Morning Herald , the creator of the sculpture is the artist Mike Makatron. "It's an honor to be able to pay tribute to a great Australian rock band and its lead singer, Bon Scott, but also to music in general ," he said. The memorial is part of the Rockin' The Laneways project, which seeks to honor the country's musical history.
Bon Scott died on February 19, 1980, in London, England, after an alcohol poisoning. Watch a video below that captures images of the sculpture and the opening ceremony of the memorial.
