Marilyn Manson has once again appeared alongside rapper Kanye West . The musician, who has been the target of numerous accusations of sexual abuse, performed at a listening event for the rapper's new album, Donda 2 , in which he has a special appearance.
The event took place last Tuesday, the 22nd, at LoanDepot Park Stadium in Miami, Florida, United States. In addition to Manson, West also invited DaBaby , a rapper who generated controversy by making homophobic comments and insulting people living with HIV.
West didn't stop there. He also used recordings of the voice of XXXTentacion , a rapper who was shot and killed in 2018. Before his death, the artist was accused of beating his pregnant girlfriend in 2016.
Manson and DaBaby collaborated on the song "Jail," in which Manson provides backing vocals saying, "Tonight I'm going to jail."
Kanye West and Marilyn Manson's collaboration on the first volume earned a 2022 Grammy nomination in the Best Rap Song category. However, the musician's name was removed due to the sexual abuse allegations he currently faces.
In defending Manson against the accusations in interviews, West criticized what he calls "1984-style mind control" (a reference to George Orwell's work that inspired, among other media products, "Big Brother") and "herd mentality."
In addition to his work on both of West's albums – Donda and Donda 2 – Manson also participated in a Catholic event organized by the rapper called Sunday Service . There, he appeared praying and singing hymns while wearing white attire. The event caused confusion among those familiar with Manson's work, as his entire career has been based on criticizing the Catholic Church, having even torn up a Bible at some events.
Meanwhile, one of his main accusers, actress Evan Rachel Wood , released the trailer for the documentary Phoenix is Rising , in which she recounts more about the sexual abuse she suffered at the hands of Marilyn Manson.
In the first part of the documentary, which was shown at the Sundance Film Festival , the actress recounts that her then-boyfriend, Brian Warner , filmed a real sex scene without her consent for the music video for "Heart-Shaped Glasses." "We had talked about a simulated sex scene, but when the cameras rolled, he started penetrating me for real. I hadn't agreed to that," she says.
This is the latest in a series of accusations made by Evan Rachel Wood since the actress named Brian Warner as her abuser and gave a full account of the physical, sexual, and psychological abuse she suffered at the hands of the singer. In December, Rachel Wood alleged that Warner threatened to sexually assault her 8-year-old son .
