In this week's Wikimetal poll, AC/DC was voted the band that made the biggest comeback with an album ("Back In Black"), with 34% of the votes. Iron Maiden ("Brave New World") and Metallica ("Death Magnetic") came in second and third place, respectively, with 22% of the votes.
Released in July 1980, Back In Black was AC/DC's sixth album and the first without vocalist Bon Scott, who passed away that same year. The album, dedicated to Scott, marked the debut of the legendary Brian Johnson.
With over 50 million copies sold, "Back In Black" is the fourth best-selling band album of all time and the best-selling album by an Australian band. "Back In Black" is also acclaimed for its sound quality: studios in Nashville used it to test room acoustics, and Motörhead has said they use the sound to calibrate their sound system.
