AC/DC: Angus Young and Brian Johnson pay tribute to Malcolm Young in a video; watch it

“This band was his 'baby'... his life,” says Angus

In a time of great comebacks for AC/DC , one vital presence will be felt by the band forever: that of guitarist Malcolm Young , who passed away at the end of 2018.

In a new excerpt from a promotional video for the band's new album, Power Up , which arrives on November 13th, his brother Angus and vocalist Brian Johnson reminisce about the artist. "I know Mal is no longer with us…," says Angus, complemented by Brian, who humorously questions, "But he's never far away, is he?", to which the guitarist replies that his brother is always with them in spirit.

“This band was his ‘baby’… his life. He was always the kind of person who said, ‘Keep playing’,” says the guitarist. Johnson believes Malcolm would be proud of the new album, a sentiment confirmed by Angus, who concludes by saying, “His motto was always, from time to time, he would say: ‘If you’re a musician, it’s almost like being on the Titanic, the band goes down with the ship (laughs)’ that’s how he saw things, you know?”.
