AC/DC may be a headliner at Rock In Rio 2024, according to journalist.

The band returned to the stage in early October after a seven-year hiatus from performing.

AC/DC may be one of the headliners at Rock In Rio 2024. According to journalist José Norberto Flesch , the event organizers have already contacted the Australian band to negotiate their participation in the festival's 40th anniversary edition, which will take place in September of next year.

So far, there are no further details about the alleged negotiation, but Flesch reported the event's interest in bringing the band to Brazil. "ROCK IN RIO WANTS AC/DC IN 2024! The band has already been contacted. The next edition celebrates the festival's 40th anniversary," the journalist wrote on the social network X , formerly Twitter.

In early October, AC/DC returned to the stage after a seven-year hiatus with a grand show at Power Trip . Featuring Angus Young (guitar), Brian Johnson (vocals), Cliff Williams (bass), Stevie Young (guitar), and Matt Laug (drums), the group delivered a nearly two-hour show with a total of 24 songs.

AC/DC's history with Rock in Rio is long, dating back to the festival's first edition in 1985. At that time, the band headlined two days of the event. Despite this, the group has not performed at the festival since then.

The dates for the next edition of Rock in Rio have already been announced: September 13, 14, 15, 19, 20, 21, and 22, 2024. Now, the event takes place in even-numbered years, just like Rock in Rio Lisboa , scheduled for June of next year. As usual, the festival takes place in the so-called City of Rock, located in the Olympic Park in Barra da Tijuca, Rio de Janeiro.
