Last Sunday, March 1st, a parade took place in the streets of Australia in the style of Brazilian carnival parades. Trucks with sound systems drove through the city of Perth playing AC/DC to honor the Sydney band and former vocalist Bon Scott , who passed away 40 years ago on February 19th.
According to ABC News , approximately 150,000 people participated in the parade titled "Highway to Hell," which covered 10km and featured various AC/DC cover bands and the Perth Symphony Orchestra.
The free event enthusiastically celebrated the vocalist's legacy and the group's ongoing work. Premier Mark McGown commented on the event: “People will be talking about the parade for years. It will be one of those very, very unique Western Australian events that will go down in our history.”
