AC/DC appears on Billboard's Rock charts following Malcolm Young's death.

Back In Black tops the Hard Rock Albums chart

Billboard announced this week that AC/DC has appeared on its Rock charts following the death of guitarist and co-founder Malcolm Young.

“Thunderstruck” reached number 6 on the Hot Rock Songs chart, which allows older songs to enter the list if they generate significant public interest. The track garnered 6,000 downloads and 4.1 million streams in the United States this week.

Five other tracks by the band entered the Billboard charts: “Back in Black” at number 11 (3,000 downloads and 3.1 million streams), “You Shook Me All Night Long” at number 15 (3,000 downloads and 2.5 million streams), “Highway to Hell” at number 18 (3,000 downloads and 2.5 million streams), “TNT” at number 23 (2,000 downloads and 1.6 million streams), and “Hells Bells” at number 24 (2,000 downloads and 1.5 million streams).

Meanwhile, the album Back in Black leads the Hard Rock Albums chart, reaching 3,000 physical albums sold, a 127% increase in sales. The album also reached the Top Rock Albums and Billboard 200 at number 130.

Malcolm Young died on November 18th at the age of 64 in Elizabeth Bay, Sydney, Australia. The musician had suffered from dementia since 2014. Check out photos and videos from his funeral.
