AC/DC announces first tour since 2016 with dates across Europe.

The band will be touring from March to August without bassist Cliff Williams.

After teasing on social media with a 5-day countdown, AC/DC announced that they will be doing their first tour in 8 years to promote the album Power Up (2020) .

So far the band has only announced dates in Europe , ranging from March 17th to August 17th. Brian Johnson , Angus Young, and Stevie Young will perform with drummer Matt Laug , formerly of Alice Cooper , and without bassist Cliff Williams , who officially retired from touring in 2016. Williams will be replaced by Chris Chaney , who previously worked with Jane's Addiction and was a member of Alanis Morissette's band .

In a statement, AC/DC commented on the news (via A Radio Rock ): “We are thrilled to finally announce the POWER UP . Angus, Brian, Stevie and Matt will be joined by Chris Chaney to carry the torch to Cliff. Our tour will feature shows in Germany, Italy, Spain, the Netherlands, Austria, Switzerland, England, Slovakia, Belgium, France and Ireland this summer. We can't wait to see you all.”

Although the announcement is limited to Europe so far, there are rumors that AC/DC may announce other dates around the world soon. In January, columnist Lauro Jardim , from O Globo , stated that the band should visit Brazil for 4 dates: two at Rock in Rio and two at Morumbi Stadium in São Paulo. Nothing has been officially announced yet.
