Behind every great album, there's usually a great title. And AC/DC , Power Up , seems to honor its electrifying sound and the iconic lightning bolt in the band's name artwork, says Angus Young , who also adds another decisive and delicate factor to the name decision.
In an interview with Australian radio station Triple M , the guitarist says, “I looked everywhere, like in song titles. In the track 'Realize' there's a line, 'I have the power to hypnotize'. The word 'power' refers to the name AC/DC. We always saw ourselves as having that power, that electric power.”
“So I just wanted another, if you can call it, okay, what you could call AC/DC, and you say they’re powerful,” he continues. “And I just found something positive: ‘Power Up.’ When we’re on stage, we plug in our guitars and all the power is turned on when we’re there.”
