The memory of legendary guitarist Malcolm Young is being frequently remembered and honored during the promotion of AC/DC , POWER UP , which arrives on November 13th. However, his brother, Angus , decided to clarify rumors, fueled even by Dee Snider , that Malcolm's guitar sound could be heard on the album.

In an interview with Keith Roth , host of the SiriusXM show Ozzy's Boneyard , he states, “Malcolm’s contribution is mainly in the ideas for the songs, which he did with me. So basically that’s Malcolm’s contribution to the whole album. He was there in spirit, and you’ll always feel him. He’s there, especially with me, he’s always part of my thoughts. I’m always thinking about him, as everyone else is too.”

During the conversation, the guitarist also shared other details about the release and how it all (re)started, “Our management contacted us around 2018 and said, ‘Are you willing to make an album?’ I had a lot of material with Malcolm that we’d worked on over the years, and we had quite a bit, so I thought, ‘I’ll put a bunch of these ideas together and we’ll see who wants to be a part of it and get into the studio.’ It was great because everyone wanted to be on board to do the project, Brian [Johnson] and Cliff [Williams] and Phil [Rudd] and Stevie [Young] and me. It was great that we could get together and make some new rock n’ roll music for the world to hear.”

Angus also spoke about what fans would like to hear: the end of AC/DC is not near. “I keep doing it. It’s a part of me. That’s my point of view. I enjoy making AC/DC music and playing. And I’ve been doing it for so long now. I think I know it better than anything. I even think I know it better than I learned in my school years,” he states.
