Abbath is preparing for the release of his third studio album in 2022. The black metal band announced details of the successor to Outstrider (2019) with the release of the first single, “Dream Cull”.
The new track arrives with a music video set in lush, yet dark and mysterious landscapes, featuring vocalist Mr. Abbath Doom Occulta in full armor and makeup amidst waterfalls and caves.
Titled Dread Reaver , Abbath's new album will be released on March 25th via Season of Mist . The project will contain 10 tracks; see cover art and tracklist below. To access the complete 2022 release calendar, click here .
In 2021, bassist Mia Wallace, who is also part of the band Nervosa , returned to Abbath after leaving the group abruptly the previous year, saying she was "forced out" of the band .
