"So Long, and Thanks for All The Fish" is the band's latest single.
The band A Perfect Circle has released a new song from their upcoming album, Eat The Elephant.
In "So Long, and Thanks for All The Fish," vocalist Maynard James Keenan sings about recently deceased artists such as Gene Wilder, David Bowie, Muhammad Ali, and Carrie Fisher.
“Now Willy Wonka, Major Tom / Ali and Leia have moved on,” he sings just before taking a jab at the lifestyle we’ve adopted today: “Time is money and money is time / We spend every penny / On politicians, fancy water, guns and plastic surgery.”
“We all deal with the absurd in a different way ,” Maynard said in a statement released to the press about the track, “My Italian side produces and shares wine with friends so I can stay grounded and connected to all the madness.”
The single, along with the previously released tracks "TalkTalk," "Disillusioned," and "The Doomed," are part of Eat The Elephant , which will be released on April 20th.
