I'm not very good with lists, but this was the best way I found to recommend heavy bands that use humor as a main ingredient.
Please note that I did not include representatives such as Stormtroopers Of Death, Anthrax, Annihilator, among many others, because comedy is not the main focus of these bands.
Below are 6 highly competent bands, both musically and humorously. Enjoy!

SPINAL TAP
I probably discovered Spinal Tap like most headbangers, through the hilarious 1984 film, This Is Spinal Tap.
The film, in documentary format, satirizes the excesses of 1980s bands through video recordings of the fictional band Spinal Tap.
Due to the success of the film, the actors began touring using the names of the characters and the band.
We can't say that Spinal Tap has had an uninterrupted career since then, but it's a fact that the guys are still (occasionally) active, sometimes playing at big festivals, sometimes releasing new music, as in their last and hilarious album Back From The Dead from 2009.
STEEL PANTHER
I discovered Steel Panther recently and became addicted to their sound. In fact, it was after listening to them that I had the idea to write this article. The band comically satirizes 80s Glam Metal.
The musicians are excellent, especially the great guitarist Russ Parrish (called Satchel in Steel Panther). Besides doing great reinterpretations of famous solos, Parrish provides precise backing vocals on both of the band's albums. The guitarist was also part of Fight, Rob Halford's former band, recording the excellent album War Of Gods.
According to information from WikiBrother Gilberto Morais, after 4 years as a band, the guys are already headlining respected European festivals.
A tip from WikiBrother Maurício Oliveira is this link which shows a clip of the guys' show. Apparently, it's common for women to reveal what's under their bras when they're being filmed.
TENACIOUS D
The band has been formed by musicians/comedians Jack Black and Kyle Gass since 1991, but it was after the movie Tenacious D in The Pick of Destiny that they began to gain worldwide recognition.
Although the band is officially composed of two people, big names like Brooks Wackerman (Bad Religion) and Dave Grohl (Nirvana, Foo Fighters) help with recordings and live performances.
Their latest and best album, Rize Of The Fenix, was released in 2012 and is available on the band's official Soundcloud.
I highly recommend the funny 2006 film before venturing into the band's discography.
BEATALLICA
This band was featured in an episode of the 2012 season of Wikimetal ( Ep #096, with Don Jamieson ). It's an excellent option for fans of the Beatles and Metallica.
Basically, what these guys do is blend Beatles melodies with lyrics, rhythm, and vocals similar to Metallica, resulting in a top-notch sound.
Interestingly, to avoid legal issues, the band makes all their recorded material available for free download.
The names used by each member are also a result of mixing the two bands: Jaymz Lennfield, Grg Hammetson, Kliff McBurtney, and Ringo Larz.
OLD VIRGINS
It would be sacrilege to leave the Banda das Velhas Virgens off this list.
Led by the incredibly kind Paulão de Carvalho, the biggest independent band in Brazil has been on the road for over 25 years and has never relied on mainstream media to promote their work.
With clever, irreverent lyrics heavily influenced by the Blues, the band is going full steam ahead. They released their latest album in 2011 (Carnavelhas 2 – do Love Story à Avenida São João) and a delicious beer in 2012. Anyone who wants to try it needs to attend one of the band's shows in person.
Any self-respecting Brazilian rock fan has to know their sound.
PSYCHOSTICK
This American hardcore band incorporates slapstick comedy elements into their image, such as rubber chickens, bizarre hats, tennis rackets, toy instruments, etc., without neglecting the musical aspect.
They began to gain more visibility in the United States after the re-release of their first album, We Couldn't Think Of A Title, which features one of their best-known songs, "BEER". They released their third album in 2011.
Personally, I prefer the humor of the bands' earlier work, but Psychostick will certainly appeal to many WikBbrothers. It's worth checking out their discography.
