World-renowned for their hit “Somewhere Only We Know”, the band Keane is coming to Brazil to perform three shows.
The first event takes place in Curitiba on November 5th at Teatro Positivo, the second in Rio de Janeiro on November 7th at Vivo Rio, and the third in São Paulo on November 9th at Espaço Unimed. Tickets are available on the official Livepass website .
The tour arrives in Brazil to celebrate the twentieth anniversary of the release of the album Hopes And Fears , the band's most successful record, which sold over 10 million copies worldwide.
“When I think about those songs, I still picture us playing them in small pub rooms all over the UK. I remember how exciting it was to see the crowd start to grow. Those songs opened the door to another dimension for us; everything that has happened in our lives since then was born from that moment. It’s an incredible privilege for us that people are still listening after all this time,” said Tim Rice-Oxley , one of the band’s founders.
With the band's upcoming tour here in mind, Wikimetal has compiled a list of five songs for you to listen to before Keane's shows in the country.
“Somewhere Only We Know” – Hopes And Fears (2004)
The band's biggest hit is undoubtedly "Somewhere Only We Know." The touching track has been streamed over a billion times on Spotify and was Island Records' best-selling single for the past twelve months.
“Everybody’s Changing” – Hopes And Fears
Another great song, also part of Hopes And Fears , is “Everybody's Changing”. Equally good as the previous one, the track is a very well-constructed ballad that won the 2004 Ivor Novello Award for Song of the Year, and is a must-have at Keane's concerts.
“This Is The Last Time” – Hopes And Fears
Following in the same vein as the beautiful ballads the band makes, "This Is The Last Time" also features on the band's most successful album. A major highlight of the track is the keyboards, in addition to Tom Chaplin . In 2002, Keane was invited by the Fierce Panda label to record this track, as well as "Everybody's Changing".
“Love Too Much” – Cause And Effect (2019)
To find out what Keane has been up to most recently, the best choice is "Love Too Much," which is part of the album Cause And Effect , released in 2019. The track is danceable and upbeat, with the band delivering a great performance.
“Bedshaped” – Hopes And Fears
Another highlight of the group's career is "Bedshaped." Featured on their 2004 album, it's calm and mellow, but gains more power and presence in its chorus. Another highlight is the keyboard detail added to the track, making it even more special.
