Keeping up with new rock and metal bands and artists isn't always easy, especially with bands that haven't yet been discovered by the general public. As part of Wikimetal's mission to strengthen our community and showcase new talent, we've compiled this list of the best discoveries we've made recently on Groover, a music curation platform.

Dan Howls

With all the appeal of the nostalgic sound of alt-blues rock, in the best style of The Black Keys and The White Stripes , the Australian band Dan Howls previews their upcoming album with the track "Bad Blood": seductive, hypnotic, but not at all gentle in its portrayal of people who try to dominate and control someone – and the painful and inevitable separation.

"The song is a dark celebration of letting go of the need to please people, especially if they aren't the kindest, and giving much more time to the good people in your life, because there are a lot of them out there," the band comments.

Jørg

German guitarist, singer, songwriter, guitar teacher, and music producer Jørg brings 30 years of experience in the music world to the single "Hail To The Glory." With influences ranging from "high-quality rock," as he describes it, to blues, heavy metal, and power metal, the artist has already gained recognition from various European media outlets as Best Guitarist and Best New Artist between 2018 and 2019.

In “Hail To The Glory”, the musician showcases his full power in a track that offers no respite: it’s an energetic and intense journey from beginning to end, lasting almost six minutes.

Low Gear

The American band Low Gear draws its main inspiration from figures who have marked world history with exceptional lives. In the case of the electrifying "Chemical Burn," the trajectory of boxer Muhammad Ali , considered one of the best of all time, is transformed into a powerful and uplifting song.

“[The song] was built with the feeling of being aware of your ultimate talents and power, of knowing that you can be the ultimate and unbeatable world champion. We want our listeners to feel that sensation and be inspired themselves,” the group describes.

Movement

Movment is a post-punk rock duo formed by Martin Kelly (vocals and drums) and Kevin Kelly (guitar, bass and keyboards), former members of the band Raw Novembre , who return with new political questions in dark and alternative tracks.

In the single “Propaganda”, the veterans invest in a sonic aesthetic that evokes the chaos of technology to raise questions about the issues disseminated worldwide by the media, in the eternal battle between fact and fake in today's world.

KAHFA

We continue with another duo, but this time from Switzerland! The Kahfa emerged in 2020 when Claudio (drums) and Théo (guitar and vocals) decided to create music that broke away from the stereotypes of musical genres.

In “En eaux troubles” it’s possible to see where the endeavor has led the duo. With rock as the common thread throughout all the songs, the influences of stoner, punk, and even industrial and hip hop are evident in this surprising track.
