One of the most important extreme metal festivals in the country, Setembro Negro , returns with a special edition between September 2nd and 4th at Carioca Club, in São Paulo.
The event, now in its 14th edition, will bring more than 30 extreme metal bands to the capital of São Paulo, and to help you be fully prepared for the festival, Wikimetal has selected 5 bands for you to discover, ranging from national to international acts, all performing in the country for the first time.

Tickets for Setembro Negro 2022 are now on sale at the Clube do Ingresso website . Prices range from R$250 to R$1,400 – the latter being a three-day pass for the VIP area.
The Black Spade
The Brazilian black metal band The Black Spade will perform at the 14th edition of Setembro Negro on the first day, Friday the 2nd, from 12:00 to 12:30.
The Black Spade was formed in 2017 in São Paulo and brings black metal to all aspects of the band, from its sound to its visual style. Their lyrics deal with themes such as death, anti-Christianity, and Quimbanda (a Brazilian Afro-Brazilian religion).
Their current lineup consists of T. Aversvs (guitar), The Black Spade Cavalo Bathory (vocals), S. Damballa (bass), M. Naberivs (drums), and T. Anduscias (guitar).
Witchcraft
The band Brujeria will be performing on Friday the 2nd, from 6:40 PM to 7:25 PM.
Brujeria is a deathgrind band formed in Tijuana by American musicians of Latino origin. Brujeria was founded by Asesino ( Dino Cazares ), who is no longer in the band, and has featured artists such as Billy Gould, Nicholas Barker, Raymond Herrera, Jeff Walker, and Shane Embury . They perform under pseudonyms and identify as a Latino band.
Their songs, which are entirely sung in Spanish, focus on Satanism, anti-Christianity, sex, immigration, drug trafficking, and politics. Brujeria currently consists of Juan Brujo ( John Lepe ) and Pinche Peach on vocals, Fantasma ( Pat Hoed ) on vocals and bass, El Cynico ( Jeffrey Walker ) on bass, guitar and vocals, Hongo ( Shane Embury ) on guitar and bass, Podrido ( Adrian Erlandsson ) and El Clavador ( Daniel Erlandsson ) on drums, and El Sangron
Ross the Boss
The project led by the famous guitarist Ross the Boss will perform at the festival on Friday the 20th, from 8:55 PM to 9:55 PM.
Ross the Boss is the latest project from the guitarist already known for his work with The Dictators and Manowar. Many consider Ross the Boss an important part of the creation of punk rock and heavy metal.
Sodom
The band Sodoma will perform on Sunday the 4th, from 12:00 to 12:30.
Sodoma was formed in João Pessoa, Paraíba, in 2003. Initially, they emerged playing a mix of death and thrash metal, but over time, they molded their sound into something between death and black metal. Their lyrics are in Portuguese and deal with themes of darkness and perversion, as well as being against Christianity.
The Sodoma lineup features Hate Devoro (vocals and bass), Seth (guitar), Samidarish (guitar), and Dagon (drums).
Inter Arma
The American band Inter Arma will perform on Sunday the 4th, from 2:35 PM to 3:15 PM.
Formed in 2006 in Richmond, Virginia, Inter Arma blends sludge with black, death, and post-metal. Their lyrics deal with death, the apocalypse, and cosmic journeys.
Inter Arma's lineup features Mike Paparo (vocals), Trey Dalton (guitar), Steven Russel (guitar), Brently Hilliard (bass), and TJ Childers (drums).
