5 extreme metal bands to discover and watch during Black September – part 3

The festival will take place between September 2nd and 4th at the Carioca Club in São Paulo.

One of the most important extreme metal festivals in the country, Setembro Negro , returns with a special edition between September 2nd and 4th at Carioca Club, in São Paulo.

The event, now in its 14th edition, will bring more than 30 extreme metal bands to the capital of São Paulo, and to help you be fully prepared for the festival, Wikimetal has selected 5 bands for you to discover, ranging from national to international acts, all performing in the country for the first time.

Tickets for Setembro Negro 2022 are now on sale at the Clube do Ingresso website . Prices range from R$250 to R$1,400 – the latter being a three-day pass for the VIP area.

Introtyl

The Mexican band Introtyl will perform at the 14th edition of the Setembro Negro Festival on Friday, September 2nd, from 1:40 PM to 2:15 PM. They will be giving an exclusive show, on their first visit to Brazil.

Introtyl was formed in 2008 in Mexico City, Mexico, under the name Redroot – they changed to their current name in 2009 – playing death metal in its most brutal form. Their lyrics deal with psychiatric disorders.

Introtyl's lineup features Kary Ramos (vocals), Sariux Rivera (bass), Rose Contreras (guitar), and Annie Ramírez (drums).

Massacre

The Colombian death metal band Masacre will be playing on Friday the 2nd, from 4:35 PM to 5:15 PM. This will be the band's only performance in Brazil.

Formed in 1988 in Medellin, Colombia, Masacre is one of the biggest names in the country. Their lyrics deal with violence, daily life in their country (which they call the "Empire of Terror"), wars, and preach anti-religion.

The Masacre lineup features Alex “Trapeator” Okendo (vocals), Juan “Juancho” Gómez (guitar), Jorge “El Flaco” Londoño (guitar), Álvaro Álvarez (bass), and Wilson Henao (drums).

Neurotics

The Japanese band Neuroticos returns to Brazil to perform at Setembro Negro on Saturday the 3rd, from 12:50 to 13:20.

Formed in Hiroshima in 2004, Neuroticos consists of two Brazilians and two Japanese members. The band focuses on brutal death metal, with lyrics that speak of violence, death, and preach against all forms of religion.

The band's lineup features Bruno Dias Matsuda (vocals), Kleber Dias Matsuda (guitar), Junpei Nakamura (bass), and Yuichi Ishiguro (drums).

Helheim

Helheim , a representative of Norwegian black metal, will perform on Saturday the 3rd, from 4:35 PM to 5:15 PM. This will be Helheim's first time in Brazil.

Formed in 1992 in Bergen, Norway, Helheim became known for its blend of black metal and elements of Viking culture. The themes of their lyrics revolve around Norse mythology.

Helheim's lineup features H'grimnir (vocals and guitar), V'gandr (vocals and bass), Reichborn (guitar), and Hrymr (drums).

Exterminate

The band Exterminate will perform on Sunday the 4th, from 12:50 to 13:20.

Exterminate was formed in 2005 in Porto Alegre, with the goal of playing death metal in its most brutal form. Their discography includes the albums Ascension (EP, 2012), Burn Illusion (2015), and Pray For A Lie (2018).

The Exterminate lineup features Adriano Martini (guitar and vocals), Marcelo Feijó (bass), Felipe Nienow (guitar), and Sandro Moreira (drums).
