There were 350 drummers playing Black Sabbath
The Florianópolis Drum Orchestra broke the Latin American record for drummers playing together outdoors. The event began in 2013 with only 34 musicians, and in its last edition in 2017 there were 350 drummers.
The setlist includes one of Black Sabbath's greatest classics from the Dio era, "Heaven and Hell".
The event is part of the Florianópolis Cultural Marathon, organized by the Maratona Institute and sponsored by the Elisabete Anderle Grant for Cultural Promotion, the Santa Catarina Cultural Foundation, Funcultural, and the Government of Santa Catarina.
Ronnie James Dio was a member of Rainbow and joined Black Sabbath in 1979, where he remained until 1982, recording two studio albums: Heaven and Hell and Mob Rules . Years later, he returned to the band and released the album Dehumanizer .
Dio was diagnosed with stomach cancer in 2009 and died on May 16, 2010.
