14 amazing bands that have their own beer

Motorhead, Metallica, Anthrax, Mastodon, and Exodus are just some of the bands that have ventured into the world of beer.

For quite some time now, people from all walks of life and backgrounds have been discovering a vast array of options in the world of beer. Inspired by the success of this universe, bands from a wide variety of genres, but especially rock and heavy metal, have decided to dive into this venture and launch their own beers.

Here at Wikimetal's editorial office, just like many of you, we're beer fans, and of course, beers made by our favorite bands have a special place in the fridge. With that in mind, we've selected 14 beers that deserve your attention. Let's go:

Pronounced Pier-t, in homage to Neil Peart.

Neil Peart Rush drummer who died last year, was honored earlier this year by Carton Brewing . Inspired by the musician's last name, the beer is called Pronounced Pier-t and features a light, yet acidic, lemon note in its composition, referencing the Rush song "Limelight".

Iron Maiden and their beer empire.

Iron Maiden , together with Robinsons Brewery , brings eight different beers to the Trooper line. Currently, the group has the beers Fear of the Dark (English Stout with 4.5% ABV), Light Brigade (Golden Ale, 4.1% ABV), Trooper IPA (Golden India Pale Ale, 4.3% ABV), the original Trooper Sun & Steel (Pilsner, 4.8% ABV) and Trooper Red 'N' Black, a limited edition currently unavailable.

Enter Night, by Metallica

Inspired by the classic "Enter Sandman," the Pilsner beer (5.7% ABV) was launched in early 2019 in partnership with Arrogant Consortia . According to the brewery itself, the product has "distinctive flavor and aroma, which combine with a traditional Pilsner from northern Germany, in addition to having the modern aggressive tones of Arrogant Consortia."

Megadeth's À Tout le Monde and Saison 13

À Tout le Monde, a Belgian Dry Hop, received a gold medal from the Beverage Testing Institute, an organization that tests beverages and awards scores based on quality. Megadeth's beer received 93 out of 100 points and was classified as exceptional. In 2019, the band announced Saison 13, a reddish-orange beer with 13 select ingredients.

Anthrax and its Wardance

Anthrax has released Wardance, made in partnership with New York's Butternuts Beer & Ale Brewery. The beer (Pale Ale, 5.5% ABV) references the shout in the middle of the classic "Indians" that invariably generates a mosh pit that looks more like a human blender.

666 Red Ale by Slayer

Brewed by the Nils Oscar Company in Nyköping, Sweden, the 666 Red Ale (6.5% ABV) is a unique craft beer based on five different malts, where El Dorado and Mosaic hops add an unmistakable character and identity, giving the Slayer 666 Red Ale a perfect balance.

Exodus Toxic Maltz

The Indiana brewery produced this killer 9.2% ABV! A Belgian strong pale ale.

Kiss Destroyer

Brewed in Sweden by Krönleins Bryggeri, this Pale Lager (4.7% ABV) is smooth with a sweet malt character.

Bastards Lager from Motorhead and Live To Win

Does anyone find it surprising that Lemmy Kilmister and his bandmates enjoyed a good drink? We think not! And, following the success of the Motorhead Shiraz wine, the trio offered fans Bastards Lager (4.7% ABV) produced by the Swedish brewery Krönleins, with a refreshing, spicy flavor and a hint of citrus.

Ale's Grave

If Sepultura is a national pride, nothing better than a Brazilian brewery to represent the brand that took metal to the four corners of the world. Bamberg, based in Votorantim in the state of São Paulo, produces this American Pale Ale (4.8% ABV) with an amber color and aroma of red fruits, toffee and a light biscuit note.

Killswitch Engage

Brewed at Cigar City Brewing in Tampa, Florida, Killswitch Engage celebrated the 15th anniversary of the album Alive or Just Breathing with this IPA (7.6% ABV).

AC/DC's beer

Following the German purity law of 1516, AC/DC's beer is brewed by Karlsberg Brauerei in accordance with the 1973 Rock'n'Roll manifesto: It's a German Pilsner (5% ABV) that explodes like TNT due to its extreme refreshment!

The Curse of the Sultan of the Mastodon

Sultan's Curse is Mastodon's fifth beer and the second made in partnership with the acclaimed microbrewery Mikkeller. It's an Imperial Stout with flavors of the Orient, containing pistachio, macadamia nuts, and other nuts that complement Yemeni coffee. With its 12% ABV, Sultan's Curse is just for tasting a little and savoring. Or not.

Deep Purple, Smoke on the Water

One of the most legendary riffs in music history has been honored with a Smoked Porter beer (8% ABV). The brewery responsible was the American Heavy Seas Beer, and the bottle features an interesting detail: the label displays the sheet music for the iconic riff.
