This is another one of those lists that's almost impossible to make! Listing the albums that, when released, changed the course of Heavy Metal, we need to clarify that we haven't included albums considered the founding pillars of the genre, from artists like Deep Purple, Led Zeppelin, and Black Sabbath.
We are thinking of albums that were precursors to a new/different "movement" or style within Heavy Metal.
Furthermore, we couldn't fail to mention honorable mentions that didn't make the list: albums such as "Images And Words" (Dream Theater), "Rock & Rolla" or "British Steel" (Judas Priest), "Morbid Visions" or "Schizofrenia" (Sepultura), "The Spectre Within" or "Parallels" (Fates Warning), "To Mega Therion" (Celtic Frost), "Bonded By Blood" (Exodus), "Scream Bloody Gore" (Death), "Appetite For Destruction" (Guns N' Roses), "Spreading The Disease" or "Among The Living" (Anthrax), "Peace Sells… But Who's Buying?" (Megadeth), "Melissa" (Mercyful Fate), among others.
Check out our list and leave a comment with the albums you think should be included!
