To our 100,000 WikiBrothers,
When we decided to create Wikimetal, less than 2 years ago, we knew that "Being Metal" is an expression that means much more than simply liking a style of music.
Ultimately, Heavy Metal isn't a style of music.
Heavy Metal is not a celebration of everything that society fears.
Heavy Metal is not a type of sound that has endured and renewed itself for over 40 years.
Heavy Metal is not a force that gives hope and keeps thousands of young people alive around the world.
Heavy Metal is not an attitude against pre-established ideas.
Heavy Metal is not a way to feel strong and connect with other people.
Heavy Metal is not a way to confront what people fear and want to ignore.
Heavy Metal is not a way to release the accumulated tension in our lives. Heavy
Metal is not a movement that we have always had to defend against people who don't know, don't understand, and criticize it.
Heavy Metal is not a sound that provokes that enveloping sensation of energy and power that gives us goosebumps from head to toe.
HEAVY METAL IS ALL THAT!!!!
We knew this. We always have.
What we didn't know is the overwhelming strength that headbangers and metal still have in Brazil, Latin America, and the world, which allowed us to reach this historic milestone so quickly.
Thank you, Headbangers. We are now 100,000.
