From time to time, fascism is a threat that finds ways to resurface in different parts of the world, under different circumstances and socio-political contexts. And although there is controversy surrounding discussing politics in rock and metal, several heavy metal bands speak out against these authoritarian regimes in their discography.
In 2017, the rock and metal website Loudwire compiled a list of ten songs that speak out against fascism. In the site's own words: "Some of you hate it when musicians talk about politics, but we have to remember that some of the best songs in history are exactly about that."
The list includes anti-fascist songs from bands like Dead Kennedys , with the anthem "Nazi Punks F**k Off," Kreator singing "People Of The Lie," and Sonic Youth with the absolute "Youth Against Fascism."
